Blog entry Where in the world is your rice going?
Cambodia
From June 2011, all rice earned on Freerice is going to help hungry schoolchildren in Cambodia.
Cambodia is recovering from decades of civil conflict and economic stagnation. Recently, rising food prices are making it more difficult for Cambodian families to survive.
Prior to Cambodia, from January until May of this year, all rice raised on Freerice went to helping Haiti following the devastating earthquake there.
A Dollar a Day in Cambodia
Over 27% of the population live below the national poverty line, surviving on less than a $1 dollar a day. What can you can buy for a dollar a day in Cambodia? Our World Food Programme staff went to a local market to answer that question.

I have just found this website and all i can say is that it's fabulous!!! At first it thought it was a scam, then did my research, the more i worked my way round this website the better it became if it wasn't already! It is such an amazing idea, and those whom came up with it, hats off to them!! TRUELY AMAZING!
Did 11000 today hell yeah :D
This website is awesome :) My son is going to sign up tomorrow, thank you to all involved in this organisation and everyone who is playing at home!
A dollar a day?
This site is the coolest. Its like being able to study and play a agme AND feed hungry ppl all in one site. Its also wonderful we can help. We Americans just take food for granted, while ppl in places like Africa are probally willing to kill for a lollipop! (btw no offense Americans ) :]
I know that there are children out there starving and makes me SOOOO SAD and at school you see people not eating and there parents paid lunch money and there not eating anything! You should be grateful you have a roof over your head an education food clothes! I hate to waste food so even if im full i still eat. Because i should be grateful that i have those things. And we all should to!
Wow, that's really nice. I can't believe that they can survive on one dollar a day. I hope that will change.
I really want to know why all rice available isn't going to East Africa right now, especially since just a bowl of rice could save a life. I'm sure that the school children in Cambodia need this rice, but considering the news reports and pictures coming out of Kenya and Somalia, I really think that this rice could be more helpful there.
I'm so happy that we're helping children in Cambodia...but does anyone know when we will start helping another country???
Awesome.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot WFP i will do my best to donate the best I can...........................
It's pretty awesome, what do you think?
That's good, I'm glad that while I work on sharpening my mind children and families all over the world are being helped. What a simple way to help the world. :)

Let's get some rice ;)
That's so cool! I didn't know my own /country/ was helped last month♥
I think that people in America we are just so ungrateful for our food. I don't want offend anyone, in fact I am American, but look at how much we eat and waste on a daily basis. I see people eating 3 times that amount in just one sitting! I also see people at school taking about 2 bites of their food and throwing the rest away! It makes me sick watching people waste decent (I won't say great) food just like that.
You can buy alot more there with a dollar then in america. But then again we earn alot more then that. I feel sad for those people though. Glad I'm helping though!
i feel sad for the cambodians. for us, its called home sweet home. for them, its home stink home
Wow! My mom is from Cambodia so that makes me half Cambodian. Anyways, that makes me so happy that they are donating to Cambodia. I've seen so many people from there that are just starved and it is so sad. So now I am so excited to actually earn rice and improve my school work. Cambodian people are really nice and this is something they deserve. :)
Praise God for freerice.com, Its just amazing and I love it.
I get to help feed the world, right from my own home ! Sweet : )
I'M GOING TO DONATE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DONATED OVER 14 THOUSAND TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:) I'm happy to know that we are helping lots of people while also helping our self also. We're practicing our skills for school and their getting free rice from our work! :) I've gotten 1000 grains so far and I've only joined today, so I hope everyone around the world is well right now and keep on earning that rice guys! :D

And I am second! Yippee 4 me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An interesting article and a worthwhile destination. but what about near starvation in the wake of the severe drought in East Africa? It must be very hard to decide where needs are greatest to allocate the rice.
yay! i am the first to comment here. i rox to the max... :p
